Sunday July 28 & Monday July 29 Alpine Adventures Ziplines Wolcott, Colorado near Vail

I arrived at Alpine Adventures, 15 miles west of Vail, about 10 A.M. and was able to get on an 11 A.M. tour. We rode up to the zipline in a Pinzgauer 6-wheel drive vehicle...the scariest part of the trip...just kidding!

The views of the canyon were magnificent, however, after 3 lines the rain was making the ground to ground landings very muddy, so we quit for the day. We walked up a short trail and the jeep picked us up! The views were so awesome I did not want to miss the other 3 lines, so I stayed overnight.

It was still early in the day, so I drove to Vail, about 15 miles to the east, to look around.

I arrived back the next morning about 8:30 A.M. for an early tour. It was raining on my drive there, but I figured if it was raining, I would go to the library and work. I was not going to complain about rain in Colorado. They needed it! However, when I arrived at 4 Eagle Ranch, it was not raining and the sun was coming out!

During the 2 - 2 1/2 hour tour, we were zipping over a very deep canyon and at times were over 250 feet in the air. The hiking is easy to moderate The views were amazing! There were rivers and streams. We were over the Alakai River which flows into the Eagle River and then into the Colorado River. Wow! What a view! We had a long zip through the canyon which was so cool! We could see waterfalls and unique cliffs. There was also a van at the bottom of the canyon that had been there 20 years. They use a block braking system and we ride on double pulleys. Lines up to a 1000 feet long!

We had a full body harness, so I went upside down a couple of times, but mostly I just rode and took in the magnificent views!

There was some hiking, but not a lot. My awesome guides were Kieran and Evan who took good care of us!

Saturday July 27 Glenwood Canyon Zipline Adventures

I arrived in Glenwood Springs in the late afternoon. I spoke with Kathy, who owns this zip, as well as, one in Idaho Springs, with her husband Keith, who was able to put me on a tour. This place has an awesome ropes course, but I was too tired to try it out. They have two 700 ft ziplines that cross over the Colorado River. I loved that because I could ham it up for the rafters below! It was a cool ride! My awesome guides were Hope and Evan!

Friday July 26 Full Blast Adventures Durango, Colorado

I arrived in Durango Thursday night and called the manager of Full Blast Adventures, Cody, and he set me up for a 10 A.M. tour for the next morning.

I arrived about 9 A.M. There were 12 lines through beautiful terrain with each line getting progressively longer and faster. My awesome guides were Matt and John John. We began with a 1/4 mile hike uphill. The walking wasn't hard, but I was having trouble breathing with an elevation of 8,000+ feet, so when Matt offered to drive me up on an ATV, I took him up on the offer. I loved the course and was able to go upside down...not sure I was allowed, oops. I also tried flipping off the deck, but kept going sideways. We had a great day. Thank you Damien for the awesome pictures!

Only 2 minutes from downtown Durango.

Paint ball and a slackline also available.

Block braking, so hands free for the zipper!

Thursday July 25 Angel Fire Zipline Angel Fire, New Mexico

I arrived at Angel Fire Zipline in New Mexico about 8 A.M. and was able to take a 9 A.M. tour.   It was cold, but a welcome change from the high 90s I had been experiencing. We were in the Sangre de Christo mountains and the views were awesome!

I had a nice 15 yo with me named Noah. It was just the two of us and we had fun! We took the chair lift to the top of the mountain where our guides, Jenna and Keith, were waiting for us! After donning harnesses and helmets, we were ready for our first zip!

We were up over 10,000 feet in elevation, so it was a little hard to breathe, but we had no problem with the short hikes. We were only able to do 5 lines because the 1600 ft line was having a new braking system installed, but I promised I would come back and zip it later. It was warming up by the time we finished. Awesome experience with a great group of people!

Other activities: Fishing, boating, horseback riding, rafting, ATV tours, golf, mountain biking, ziplining, disc golf, and more!

Wednesday July 24 Texas and New Mexico

I enjoyed my drive today. I saw a lot of green in the Texas panhandle. Lots of corn growing. There were also a bunch windmills which I always like to see; they are fascinating!

It was exciting to see the mountains come into view in New Mexico. Angel Fire is gorgeous! I was sitting in front of the lodge just enjoying the view.

I am at Angel Fire Lodge, but don't have a room tonight. I got here too late to see the people in charge of the zipline.

They have an 8 A.M. tour I hope to be on, but we shall see. I wouldn't mind staying here a couple of days.

Tuesday July 23

OK! I have been at McDonald's for 6 hours working. I am ready to drive. I got every place on the list that I have zipped. I still need to add more info and pics, but at least i have everyone there.

I am headed to Angel Fire, New Mexico, but I am 480 miles away.

I decided to stop and work because it was so hot. I will be cooler to drive now, but I don't know how far I will go before I stop.

I have zipped 32 places in 25 days! I may not zip for a couple of days; hope I don't have withdrawals!

After Angel Fire, I head to Colorado! Cooler temperatures here I come!

Tuesday July 23 DFW Adventures

I arrived at DFW Adventures about 9 A.M. Taylor and Gabe were my guides and they were awesome. I got to try out a new line that they haven't opened yet, as well as, do the other 4 lines twice. They let me do some upside down stuff. I was braking myself with a glove, but I managed to turn upside down and right myself in time to brake and land feet first on the platform.

I had a great day and enjoyed seeing this beautiful part of Texas with lots of trees.

They also have ATV adventures and Paintball. They have the largest paintball field in Texas. The entire property covers 170 acres.

After I zipped, the owner, Larry Lipscomb, took me on a tour of the property in his 4 wheel drive jeep...in was also air conditioned! How cool is that?

It was a wonderful experience and I had a great day!
